Champoton Copy by Juanele Champoton Copy by Juanele
This is copied from an original drawing of Miguel Covarrubias, a very talented mexican artist who died in 1957. Today we brought a book about him, his life and work, and I thought it would be a good idea to copy some of his works for practice. His style is really something I would like to achieve in time.

And to avoid any misunderstanding about me copying the work of another artist, I'm including here a picture of the original work, from the same book that I just told you.

Lineart in Photoshop, colors in Corel Painter which I'm just learning how to use.

Now, that's a neat style. It seems to incorporate a little bit of the old Aztec ruin art into the overall graphic look and feel.
